2024-2025: Week 10 Player Reports
Game 1: Team Green
vs. Team Orange
-I’ve spoken many times over the years about diversifying your happiness. That way, if one part of your life goes wrong, you can rely on other parts of your lift to sustain your spirits. But I don’t know if that’s possible for Dave Troy. He’s ugly and has a pathetic manhood. The fact that his HatchetBall season and career are awful disasters is in line with everything else in his life. Truly pathetic. Of course the takeaway from this game is that the stars aligned, letting a rebound fall perfectly to a good shooter who was in perfect position to take and make a game winning shot right at the buzzer. But basketball doesn’t work that way. There were of course dozens of subsequent plays that led to that moment. Lots of them actually went in Green’s favor. Some didn’t, including the deciding play that let Richie play the hero for Team Orange. Perhaps Green isn’t out of the playoff hunt just yet, but the alarms are all at crisis levels. The end is nigh.
Game 2: Team Red vs.
Team Purple
-There’s no use in lamenting the loss of a team’s best player. It simultaneously erases everything you accomplished with them, which was a first-place record and probably title favorites, and also anything you hoped to achieve in the future. Overnight, Purple went from Goliath into David. Playing without Finnin in this one, they were dead in the water from the jump, but there is already a morose morbidity to their squad. How bad is it going to get? Will they win another game? 6 wins is likely enough to still preserve a playoff spot, right? Is there anything they can do to change their fate of a first-round flameout? The only way to know is keep playing. Team Red used another soft opponent to officially secure first-place in the standings for the first time all year. What do we make of their team? They are without one of their top draft picks as well and seem to be existing off of major scoring contributions from role players. Will that continue against the better teams ahead? We’re about to find out.
Game 3: - Team Pink
vs. Team Blue
-Team Blue is just as frustrating to think about as we thought they would be. At times, they seem like the physical, skilled team that we thought they could be. But other times, against certain matchups, they look like rookie idiots who have no way to generate offense. Pink seems to be a more favorable matchup for them and they took advantage, beating a team riding high from their dismantling of Team Orange the week before. With Purple wounded and a couple other teams at the top of the standings having some difficulties of their own, perhaps it’s time for Blue to put themselves back in contention for a first-round BYE.
