2022-2023: Week 16 Player Reports

Game 1: Team Blue vs. Team Green

-In probably the most exciting game of the season with the most on the line, this game lived up to expectations. In the grand scheme, the loser of this game gets to play against the lowly Team Purple in Round 1 of the playoffs, so it isn’t too threatening, but there’s a psychological aspect to these types of grudge matches when you likely will play again in a couple weeks. This can break either way. One team can get intimated. Or the team can gain confidence and vow revenge. Team Green eeked this one out with a buzzer beater by the surging rookie Felipe Trinidad. Blue played okay, but not their best. They’ll need a better collective effort to get it done if these teams square off again in Round 2 of the playoffs. If that happens, all bets are off.

Game 2: Team Pink vs. Team Purple

-Pink finished their historic regular season in style, cruising to a 20 point victory. They will get a BYE and then likely play the winner of the Yellow/White rematch. Team Purple will need a miracle to get through their first round matchup. Unlikely. Pink will need to play 80 minutes of focused basketball to get the final two wins they want this season. Can they get it done?

Game 3: - Team Yellow vs. Team White

-These two teams came into this game knowing they would play each other again the following week, but that didn’t keep them from giving it everything. It took 2 overtimes to decide this one and White got it done. White will be without Stan for the playoff rematch, which is going to be a very tough hurdle to overcome. They need his size and defense. Especially in the playoffs, there’s simply no way to recover from the matchup nightmares you have to deal with when you’re missing key guys. It’s asking too much. Let’s see if Rob has some magic left in his bald head.
