2021-2022: Week 15 Player Reports
Game 1: Team Orange
vs. Team Black
-With a hungover team captain and a missing leading scorer, this should have been a very winnable game for Team Black. Instead, they leaned into their propensity towards lackluster effort and were outworked throughout the game. Without Declan’s explosive drives, Team Black would have been slaughtered in this one. Team Orange used constant movement and timely passing to get a ton of great looks at the rim throughout the game. It was close near the end, but Team Orange earned this one, bringing their lopsided season to .500. Team Black also closed the regular season at .500. But it’s funny how momentum makes a difference. Despite the identical records, these teams are clearly on different trajectories.
Game 2: Team Red vs.
Team White
-Speaking of teams heading in opposite directions, Team White was able to easily handle the fading Team Red. The roster shakeup for Red now feels like a death knell. Team White didn’t change anything other than ramping up their effort and making shots as a collective unit. Will that continue? Hard to say. But having a BYE in the first round will certainly help.
Game 3: - Team Yellow
vs. Team Purple
-Seemingly desperate for the offseason, Team Yellow put out another blah effort against the very vulnerable Team Purple to seal their fate as a non-playoff team. The timing of this win for Purple couldn’t have been better. They’ll have one more game to close out the season, in another winnable game against Team Red. If they snag two wins heading into the first round, that might give them the oomph they need to get back on track.
