2020-2021: Week 10 Player Reports

Game 1: Team Green (Koll) vs. Team Orange (Garmes)

-In a battle of the cellar dwellers, Team Orange squeezed out a tight win in the highest scoring game of the season.  Justin led the way with 37 points, but they had (4) players in double figures even without their second round pick in the lineup.  Team Orange will go on to play Team Yellow in the playoffs, which is clearly their favored matchup.  Let’s see if they can make it 3-0 against the collapsing Team Yellow.  Team Green loses 5 straight to close out the season and big Jim Shick suffered an ankle injury in this one.  They better hope he can heal up durinf the off week, otherwise I’m not sure how they’ll score over 50 points in the first round of the playoffs.

Game 2: Team Blue (Troy) vs. Team Red (Dudek)

-For a team that has seemed on the brink of disaster all season, Team Blue finally hit a wall against Team Red and had no answers to keep this one close when it mattered.  They will pay the price, losing the coveted first-round BYE, but they shouldn’t feel to badly about how their season played out.  For all their struggles, they have a winnable first-round game that would take them right back to a rematch against Team Red, who they split with during the regular season.  Not to make excuses, but it’s worth noting that, once again, Team Blue was missing their 3rd rounder in this matchup, while Team Red had the luxury of playing without their 7th or 8th round picks.  That’s a significant advantage that won’t be there in the playoffs, when typically everyone will show up.

Game 3: - Team White (Hahn) vs. Team Yellow (Matt V)

-Looking to prove a point, Team White dick-hammered Team Yellow into oblivion to close out the regular season.  They held Pat Statham to a season-low 2 points and it took some oddly accurate shooting from Declan to keep this game within 30.  Hahn’s White Walkers cruised to the top overall seed in the playoffs with very little resistance and are definitely peaking at the right time.  Let’s see if a 2-week layoff will lead to any rust when they finally play again on August 10th.
