2016-2017: Week 4 Player Reports
-Team Bo looks strong on paper. With Steigerwald's pure shooting, Spadoni's spider monkery, and two stout big men providing length in the middle, you would figure they could control tempo and make life hard on opposing teams with a balanced defense. However, their first three games certainly haven't shown any sign of this. The primary deficiency seems to be ball handling and playmaking. None of these pieces fit together without some type of offense or distribution player to get people open and keep defenses out of sync. They were able to communicate well and restrict Mark to a degree in this one, limiting most of his damage to 3-Pointers and Free Throws, but he still tallied 27 points and Luke had his way, tallying 18 points of his own. Steigerwald put up a pathetic Matt V stat line, mustering 5 made 3-Pointers and not much else. Mark, Matt K, and Luke combined for 56 points, 26 rebounds, and 8 total blocked shots in this contest. They may not be the fastest team in the league (or even the youngest any more), but with the small dimensions in the HatchetDome, skill and experience matter more than anything else.
-Rob and Jerry raced out to a
big lead in this one, dominating the boards against the slower Team Red. Rob led the way with more accurate shooting,
finishing with 26 points on limited shot attempts, while Jerry was back to his
old self, totaling 8 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assist.
