Week Thirteen Player Reports

Mark Koll: I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.  For those of you keeping score at home, Mark has lost two consecutive games on buzzer beaters (three, counting other leagues).  Truly reMarkable.  This game was yet another reminder that you should never take scoring for granted.  It was quite obvious that when Orange went up big in the first half bolstered by Mark's scoring, that everyone wanted to get in on the action.  This turned into quick, low-percentage shots being attempted all over the place, but even worse, not one player thought of helping Mark get open when Team Blue switched to a Box and One to defend him.  Selfishness won out in the end, dropping Orange's record to a dismal 5-5.

What's Next: Mark will hang himself if he loses to another buzzer beater.

Matt Koll: Matt illustrated the difficult task of "turning on the switch" in basketball.  After a first half of general fuckery, Matt was not prepared to put in the game winning plays his team needed.  Time and time again, Orange needed just one or two stops down the stretch to put the game away.  And those stops never came.

Matt Vitaliano: Coming off the bench for the first time in a while, Matt V's squad pulled out a close one against the resurgent Team Red in Week Thirteen.  This should have mathematically locked up a #1 seed for Dark Blue.

What's Next: All that's left for this squad is a couple mop up games against Team Green and Team Yellow.  They should finish 11-1.

Rob Knapczyk: Rob continues to increase his production as the season wears on.  He put up a big effort of 30 points and 17 rebounds in Week Thirteen.  His team looked they needed every bit of that effort, too.  Team Dark Blue rolls on.

What's Next: Rob will get into trading and collecting Pokemon cards.

Luke A:  Back to his same old useless self, Luke rode the coattails of others to victory in Week Thirteen.  Early reports indicate that Luke will not make the playoff roster.

What's Next: Luke will enter his head in a pumpkin carving contest in October, only to accidentally win for Scariest Jack-O-Lantern.

Steve Dudek: Steve stumbled around for most of this one, throwing up a bunch of ugly bricks and missed layups in the first half, but he stayed resolute and was able to 17 points in the team win.  He even hit all four of his free throws.  He must have gotten some encouragement from his grandkids before the game.

Mark Vitaliano: Playing an inspired brand of basketball, and seemingly unfazed by repeated blocked shots, Mark was critical down the stretch in the upset win over Team Orange.  He finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds and did most of his work on the offensive glass.  Mark's a true hooper; as always, if he brings a level of consistency, his team will be a contender.

Eric Mittermann: Eric pulled in 8 rebounds in the loss.  This game was a real stink fest.  Grey won in the end, but I'm not sure anyone cared.

What's Next: Eric will jack-knife into Rob's knees in Week Fourteen, just to shake up the playoff picture.
