Week Two Player Reports
Mark Koll: Now that's more
like it! In complete contrast with his
Week One
outing, Mark played a wildly efficient game in Week Two.
Granted, they were up against a depleted Red
team playing with out their superstar, but it was still good to see
Mark back
to his stat-stuffer ways. More
importantly, Team Dark Blue showed glimpses of what may lie ahead. In the second half, Bo's squad was venomous
with their passing, finding tons of open looks and easy buckets. That was the type of performance they'll look
to expand upon in future matchups. Further, Mark looked like he gained a bit of
rhythm with running mate George Georgio. In the past Mark has not needed more than a
good hustler and rebounder to be the most
dominant
force in HatchetBall.
In the past, he's won titles with the likes of Jerry Hahn, Matt Koll, and Luke Assinmyface
playing this exact role; Georgio fits the
job
description, so 2014-2015 may be another trip to title town for Mark.
What's Next: Dark Blue will look to push their record to 2-1 against Team Tierney in a special Sunday edition of HatchetBall.

Matt Koll: This whole
Jerry/Matt Koll thing is really starting
to blossom for Team
Green. It's still troubling that they
struggle to make shots, but if they continue rebounding at this clip,
the extra
shots created will make up for their poor shooting percentages and
absolutely
horrendous free throw shooting. Matt and
Jerry are shooting a combined 33% from the charity stripe.
But the ability of Matt and Jerry to crash
the boards with such reckless abandon while the rest of the league
waits for
the ball to fall into their lap is a major advantage for Team Green. Matt certainly played second fiddle to Jerry
in Week Two, but still put up a solid game, mustering a monster 5
blocks in the
effort. Is Team Green already the team
to beat?
What's Next: The Green Meanies will likely run their record to 3-0 against a sloppy looking Team Lumberjack (Conway).

Luke A: We all knew the Red Team was in trouble without Steigerwald to rely upon, but Luke almost willed
his team
to a surprising upset by playing an incredible first half.
Unfortunately, the little Greek engine that
couldn't ran out of steam VERY early in the second half and never
recovered. Reigning league emperor Mark Koll buried them quickly and Team Red could not
respond. Luke still put up a solid stat
line overall and his young season looks strong: 14.5
What's Next: Team Red gets a
BYE in Week Three and then returns
to action against Team Vito in Week Four.

Jerry Hahn: Playing a particularly angry brand of
basketball, Jerry
was at his best in Week Two, nearly snagging a triple-double in the
process. While he fell one assist short
(10 points, 16 rebounds, 9 assists), Jerry impressed as he helped his
team with
second chance opportunities time and time again. You
have to figure he'll hit a free throw
sooner or later, but as long as Jerry stays focused on what he does
best
(annoying, pestering effort plays) he'll keep Team Green on top of the
standings.
What's Next: Team
Slime gets any easy one in Week Three against the 0-1 Team Conway.

Paul Hobe: Well now! Paul
impressed everybody (probably himself as well) in a solid rookie debut
game. Unfortunately, Paul may be on the
worst team in HatchetBall.
That's the way it goes. Still,
there's nothing to be ashamed about on
Paul's behalf, as his 10 point, 6 rebound effort definitely proved that
he'll
be a major contributor in this league.
If he shakes off a bit of the rust, I'm sure those numbers will
only
rise.
What's Next: Paul
will get a taste of real HatchetBall
competition
against the feisty Team Green in Week Three.
