Week Twelve Player Reports
Mark Koll: It's starting to
become a
troubling trend that Team Grey doesn't seem interested in keeping Mark
involved. However, this is nothing
new. And it makes sense.
Dark Blue carried a four game win streak into
their showdown with Steigs and Assduke. What
typically happens on winning teams is
the false conclusion that everyone on the team is responsible for the
winning
streak. Then, when fortunes are
reversed, those players then assume that they should take it upon
themselves to
take the majority of the shots. In HatchetBall, it's critical to keep your best
scorer
involved on almost every play. Not just
to feed their ego (which is also important), but by not making a
focused effort
to get the ball in your scorer's hands, you allow defenses to spread
their
attention. Grey struggled
getting points on the board in their loss to Team Red.
Time after time, Grey players either turned
the ball over or forced up ill-advised shots.
They'll need to be sharper against the better teams or they'll
be a
one-and-done in the playoffs.
What's Next: Dark Blue in a critical matchup against first-place Team Orange.

Matt Koll: Just when things
couldn't look
any worse for Team Light Green, Jerry goes down with a deep-throating
injury (receiving end, of course) and they sputtered to another loss
against
Dark Green. Light Green's record has
dipped below .500 for the first time all season and what looked like a
promising roster has fallen apart in 2015.
They've lost four of their last five and continue to struggle
putting
points on the board. This team still has
time to get it together, but they'll need to focus up.
What's Next: A
favorable matchup against the slow-paced
Team Red in
Week Thirteen.

a championship, but way to go Luke!

Paul Hobe: Dark Green has landed squarely in fourth
place at
5-4. They've been very inconsistent from
week to week and are pretty short on talent, but they show flashes of
team
balance that can be very dangerous in a low-scoring playoff game. Matchups will be
key for them come playoff time.
What's Next: Dark
Green will get a week off before two very winnable games in a row. Will Dark Green
be 8-4 by the time they play Team Orange in Week Sixteen?
