Week Two Player Reports
Mark Koll: It was tough
sledding for Mark
in Week Two, as the realities of his new team became more apparent. This is understandable. True
team character is only revealed in times
of crisis. Playing against a top-tier
team, Mark's Grey squad wavered and cracked.
The ball movement wasn't there and their lack of height was
beyond
obvious, as Cahill the Irish Man-Mountain bullied his way towards
sealing the
victory for Team Dark Blue. Mark shot
hot and cold throughout the game, but floundered with the rest of his
teammates
when Blue put the screws to them. Grey
will still be a contender, but as of now, they are hindered by
unsuccessful
team play, which is troubling. Because
they lack the depth or talent of the other top teams, strong team play
is the
only way Mark can get his Three-Peat.
What's Next: Mark has a solid
opportunity in Week Three to get back on track against Team Rech,
who lost their season opener against an undermanned and underprivileged
(but
well-fed) Team Tierney.

Matt Koll: Matt went out of
his way to
make this writer eat crow in a couple of ways om Weel Two. First, he backed up his promise to score more
in 2013-2014 (a promise this writer mocked in the Week One Player
Reports). Second, he beat said writer's
team handily in the process. Matt set
personal records for points scored in a game (21) and three-pointers
scored in
a game (6). Matt also recorded a
double-double in the process, snagging 10 rebounds.
Most importantly, he led his team to a
perfect 2-0 record.
What's Next: Team
Dark Blue has Week Three off to celebrate their big win, and the good
times
will likely continue in Week Four against Team Danaher.

Luke A: Idle in Week Two.
What's Next: Luke
will look to keep up with the torrid pace he has set for blocks this
regular
season. He has such a head-start, it's likely that he will shatter all the
existing
block records. If he wants to make sure
that happen, he'd be smart to swat as many shots as he can against the
likes of
Team Dark Green.

Jerry Hahn: Jerry's unintended season opener came in
Week Two
against Team Baby Blue. Jerry didn't
look entirely focused or comfortable on the court with his new
teammates, but
when push came to shove, he contributed his usual effort and was a big
reason
Team Orange grabbed their first win of the season.
He finished with 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 7
assists. The biggest take away from
Jerry's first game is that he seems to be a good fit with Spider
Monkey, who
played like a real first-rounder in this contest. It's
one of the better one-two punches in HatchetBall,
but it is unclear how far they can take this
team, with so many other powerhouse rosters to deal with.
What's Next: Jerry
and company face off against the 1-0 Team Tierney in Week Three.
