Week Twelve Player Reports

Mark Koll: Things continue to go downhill for Team Grey at the most crucial point in the season.  While other teams are gearing up for the playoffs and jockeying for seeding, Team Grey is sputtering.  Yet again, Grey held a demanding lead in a game they should have won easily, but when their opponents went on a run, Grey crumbled and resorted to the same crappy play that has kept them in the bottom half of the league all season.  Grey has to lead pretty much from wire to wire to play well together, otherwise several of their players resort to ridiculously forced plays that have no chance of succeeding.  Will Gray even make the playoffs?

What's Next: Gray has what might be a must-win in Week Thirteen against Team Yellow.

Matt Koll: Don't look now, but Dark Blue is surging.  They've played much better in the second half of the season.  I'm not completely sold on their chances to win it all based on their pathetic stretches of stagnancy on offense, but they have a very capable roster.  Playoff games tend to be lower scoring contests anyway and that might bode well for them down the road.  Match-ups are key for them, so they should keep that in mind as the playoff seeds sort themselves out.

What's Next: Week Thirteen will be telling for Dark Blue, when they face off against the red-hot Team Orange.

Jerry Hahn: In a highly-touted matchup, Jerry and his gang of height-challenged misfits came ready to play.  They held Team Red to their worst offensive game since adding Steigerwald to the roster.  But that isn't all that surprising, seeing as though Orange has relied on its defense and effort all season long.  This game turned into a blowout.  Jerry led the way with an astounding 18 assists, shattering the record by 8 full assists.  It seemed like every time he passed the ball someone was about to score.  Was this indicative of poor defense from Team Red or Team Orange firing on all cylinders?  Probably a little bit of both.  The real question is this: Will Orange run the table the rest of the way?  Who's going to stop them?

What's Next: Another big game for Team Orange in Week Thirteen against Team Dark Blue.  Expect a low-scoring affair.

Mike Steigerwald: Team Red may be the newest wildcard contender.  Over their last few games, they've been awfully streaky.  They have the type of team you could see pounding through opponents in the playoffs, if their shots are falling.  But they also seem like the type of team that could take themselves out of the running in a first round upset, if their shots aren't falling.  The critical piece there is that Team Red would greatly benefit from a first round BYE, which makes winning the rest of their games a priority.  Assuming they win their next couple games against Team Green and Team Baby Blue, Mike and company might be tied or one game behind Team Yellow for the second seed BYE.  And who do they play in Week Sixteen?  That's right: Team Yellow.  Let the games begin.

What's Next: Red gets a week off in Week Thirteen before beginning the stretch run.
